Adam Novy + Daniel Borzutzky

Booster and Seven is proud to host two great Chicago writers, Adam Novy and Daniel Borzutzky, in honor of Arbitrary Tales, the new book by Daniel Borzutzky. In the tradition of Ben Marcus, Matthew Derby, and David Ohle, Daniel Borzutzky's fictions mine the fables that comprise our understanding of ourselves: the tales that are woven up so intricately with us we cannot tell where we begin and our histories end. He turns these stories inside out and makes them new. He frees us from them so we can weave them back again.

ADAM NOVY received is MFA in writing from the Schoolof the Art Institute of Chicago in 1998, where he currently teaches. His work has appeared in BridgeMagazine, American Letters and Commentary and Weep. He was a participant in the Myopic Poetry series and his book, The Israelites, is too good to be published.

DANIEL BORZUTZKY'S first book, Arbitrary Tales, has just been published by Triple Press.  His work has appeared in many literary journals, including Fence, American Letters and Commentary, Denver Quarterly, Mississippi Review, LIT and several others.  His translations of Chilean poet Jaime Luis Huenun have been published in Circumference and will appear on public buses in Los Angeles as part of the Poetry Society of America's Poetry in Motion project.  He teaches in the English Department at Wright College in Chicago.
