Covers:
Oli Watt

Booster and Seven is pleased to announce Covers, a solo exhibition of new work by OLI WATT. This body of work is a result of Watt’s continued interest in the trail of printed matter and objects that document daily experiences. Utilizing his printing practice in a variety of ways, Watt meticulously replicates a range of printed matter and lovingly mocks select objects, undermining their usability and readjusting their use value on both personal and broader sociocultural levels. Covers explores how these prints and objects relate to ideas of reproduction, duplication, and forgery, particularly in regards to the progression of technology.

Oli Watt received his BFA in painting and a BA in Art Education from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He received his MFA with an emphasis in printmaking from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he currently teaches printmaking classes.

Watt’s artwork has been exhibited at a number of galleries and museums including Bodybuilder and Sportsman Gallery, Chicago, Spencer Brownstone Gallery, New York, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Terra Museum of American Art, the Rocket Gallery, London, and Anchor Graphics, Chicago.

His work is included in the permanent collections of The Joan Flasch Artist's Book Collection at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Artists Book Collection at the MCA Chicago, and the Tate Museum Library.
